Gala dinner goes down a storm in South Africa
On September 15, more than 150 people gathered at the Durban Country Club for the South Africa Branch Centenary gala dinner and prize-giving.
Students that recently completed their Professional Qualifying Exams (PQE) and prize winners (pictured) rubbed shoulders with leaders in the shipping industry.
This year 63 students sat the exams in South Africa - 11 passed the Foundation Diploma, 5 passed the Advanced Diploma and 6 students completed their PQE. A further 12 students passed some of the PQE subjects.
In recognition for the work he had done in bringing the SA Branch back into the international fold, Sean Minogue achieved a lifetime membership award. This is the first time the award had been bestowed upon a South African member.
